Leg spasms?
I'm trying to figure out what this pain is. Lately I have been having a pain in both legs that feels like the pain of a muscle cramp, but the muscles aren't tensed up. It is worse if I try to move. Then last night my arms decided to join the party. It gets to the point that all I can do is cry. It starts of tolerable in the morning and becomes unbearable by night time. I should be seeing my doctor in the next couple weeks so I'm trying to hold out but I don't if I will be able to.
Has anybody ever felt this sensation? Thanks everyone. Kristie |
(((Kristie))) It sounds like spasticity and I'm sorry you are experiencing this. I find that if I try to pace myself more during the day, I do better. (However, I am horrible at doing that). Talk to your dr about it as there are several medicines that help with that.

((((Kristie)))) more hugs. I hope the Doc comes up with something that works for you.

Thank you both. I thought I was supposed to be going to see my doc in a couple weeks, but it turns out that I am scheduled to see her on December 2nd! I don't think I can wait that long so I will be calling her.
Thanks again for your input! Kristie |

I have spasticity as my main symptom. I take a boatload of xanaflex. You should definitely call your neuro. Don't wait...:hug:

I too have leg pain and wonder exactly what it's all about. My legs hurt, mostly in the calf, ankle and foot area. They hurt mostly when I'm sitting or lying down. It doesn't bother me when I'm up and about...I don't get it. Is this my MS? My neuro thinks it's fibro but I've read about that and have no other symptoms. I do on occasion have some tingling or mild vibration feeling. But my legs ache..like a burning feeling. So Nemsmom, is this something of what you experience? Mine doesn't hurt when I move them...it feels better to move actually.

The nurse told me the doctor wants me to start taking 200mg of Neurontin twice a day instead of just at bed time. I told her that I can't walk straight when I take it that's why I only take it at bed time. She told me, "Well I think that's why she wants you to TRY it" So I guess I'm going to try to see if I can tolerate it. |

Neurontin can deplete your magnesium and vitamin B12 (I just learned that one) so make sure you get plenty of it in both your diet and supplements. It took me about a week to get used to it and I rarely get that loopy feeling now. I take 300 mg in the am and 600 mg at night. This is the highest dose I can tolerate. They've had me try to increase it but I just couldn't. I hope you start feeling better soon. |
