Anyone ever catch a cold while dealing w/PCS?
Over 15 months of the TBI, and not a cold yet.
A few days ago, I made a mistake. And the nights became colder, and my whey protein ran out (I'm trying not to rely on it, though). I'm on the verge of a cold- sore throat. And the tooth nerves are hurting more- and the headache has increased. Thank God this didn't happen a year ago when the pain was horrible. But I thought I'd check in on this valid concern. Thanks- |
Yep. And stomach flu. Really does a number on the vertigo.

Yes. A head cold while dealing with PCS is murder on the brain. Especially when it centers on the sinuses. The whole right side of my face froze up. It was terrifying.

I have had chronic sinusitis for 2 decades despite 2 surgeries, allergy shots, etc....when I got my concussion I had a sinus infection and have had a handful since. For me it makes everything pcs flare up worse, so I do my best to stay hydrated, take appropriate meds, get extra rest, keep the head propped up while sleeping, etc.
Sorry you have to deal with this, I know how miserable it can be! |
OK. Thanks.

Jeffrey,
I hope you feel better soon.. Thanks for posting. I was wondering how a cold can effect us. I'm now germaphobic (worse than before) because I cant even imagine catching a cold on top of everything else....and what can we take with the meds were on.... Get better soon... Lots of hot tea and soup... |
I actually woke up with a nasty head cold yesterday.
Still have it today. It sucks, I just feel..out of it. It definitely made my symptoms worse. |
