Medicare Set Aside

I need a friend from all of you - I know to ask my lawyer, but like all of your lawyers, mine does not answer my calls - ever.

He has sent BLANK Medicare Set Aside documents.

One, I sign nothing blank.

But has anyone been burned by the insurance company putting in ALL of the medical parts, so one can no longer get any Medicare benefits?

What has been any anonymous experiences, I absolutely will keep confidential. Ca

As soon as my flare stops, I'll try to anwer some of the questions I see above that I do have an opinion.

My WC is ongoing, but I've been in the system a long, long time. Every doc I've ever spoken to states that settling your medical is never a good idea. Medicare has to agree to the amount, btw.

Is this something you want to do?

I'd suggest visiting a WC site that has forums for every state--there's just not much traffic in this forum.

Ask your qustions to your attorney by fax or certified mail return receipt requested if you're serious about needing a response.

nO OFFENSE LIT, BUT IT DEPENDS TOTALLY UPON IF YOU HAVE OTHER PERSONAL INSURANCES. dON'T FORGET MANY PEOPLE BUY ADDITIONAL PRIVATE ATTORNEY PLANS AND IT IS VERY, VERY IMPORTANT TO TRY TO GET A FULL CONSULT WITH YOUR ATTORNEY.

I AM WONDERING HOW LONG THEY TAKE, IF ACTUAL WORKERS HAVE DONE THEM, (I KNOW ONLY ONE AND IT WAS GOOD.)

Medicare will send you the set-aside paperwork. That is how I found out about mine. 3 years after it was set up. If you have a medicare set-aside, in my instance, I need surgery and the insurance company said no. With some research, I found out that with a denial, you can have your doc send in the denial and bill it to Medicare. Otherwise I couldn't get a treatment.

They set up a Peer to Peer and called and left messages on my doc's nurse's answering machine twice then denied it without talking to him. Two days.

Will:eek: deal with them after I have the necessary surgery.
