amitriptyline - elavil

Hi
Has anyone tried amitriptyline (elavil) for RSD? It was prescribed by a new pain management doctor we saw today prescribed it.

Thanks,
Teresa:hug:

Hi Theresa,
What did Maleki MD suggest you take? Hugs, Roz

Hi, It has been used for many years here in Australia and has dual benefits of pain relief and an anti-depressant.
The outcome varies from person to person but I have know of many who find it helps a lot.

Amitriptyline works well for me. I take 80 mg before bed. I think that I have done much better after starting it because I am getting more sleep and able to tolerate the pain better.

What dose are you starting at?
