Can a person get another lawyer's opinion

Just had question. If a person already has a lawyer and is in the middle of their case, do you think another lawyer would meet with them just one time to give a "2nd opinion"... just like when you get a second medical opinion. I wonder if I can do that, as the lawyer Gordan Gates (a couple of people have directed me to his site for info) is very close to me.

You can't pay the out of pocket due to SS rules, so many wouldn't spend the time unless they're volunteering as an advocate, but if you have a friend it sure can't hurt to ask. Does his practice include SSD?

You can also find people that worked for SS in some capacity or other experts online and locally. There are a few of those types on this board that do come by. If you spend a little time reading older posts you can identify them.
