sleeping probs

so since my flare up i have noticed that when i sleep i get a DEEP ache in my bp area? i can't even turn my head to the side at all, i have to keep it in neutral. sometimes i get the deep ache in my shoulder at the back

when i sleep on my shoulder i think its the most irritating, one shoulder is crushed too much and then the other is just hanging wrong and my upper trap feels swollen to me. even with my head in neutral i get the deep ache then too. and then afterwards my nerves'll start firing off and i get pins and needles in my neck and arm.

i also get a deep ache in my elbows if i sleep with them bent sometimes.

this deep ACHING is that nerve entrapment?? would it come and go with flares?

well i went to pt today and my ribs werent elevated, which makes sense bc i'm not really having neck spasms

so i think its just nerve inflammation

if you realy have no edema it's possible.

Anyway nerve inflammation is maintened by a neural fibrosis.

yeah i could sleep on my side fine until i attempted the nerve glides, gah

i do think its edemaish stuff from irritating my nerves. my shoulders being too lax doesne help either

Do you think you did the nerve glides in too strong a fashion, like too fast, too hard, too many? Do you think you injured your nerves with an overstretch of them?

Poor quality of sleep was the main reason that prompted me to go ahead with the first rib excision op (V/ATOS).... in the hope that my hands would regain a strong blood flow>>>>>> then in turn stop my hands going numb at night.
NO such luck....... my hands STILL go numb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in hope that maybe its just scar tissue and tenderness and once everything has settled down after awhile my hands will be ok at night?
I HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused::(

i think the nerve glides just ****** everything off yes. i am never doing nerve glides (with numb hands) by myself again. my pt can do them. im terrified.

what i dont understand i guess its compression AND stretch, the nerves are stuck in my neck someplace and then stretched out in my arms:confused:

Yes, even when on my back..... but I mostly get it if I have rolled over during the night. When I am on my back my shoulder blades are tender and my elbows get achy when my arms are bent at a right angle too.
Sometimes I miss curling up and sleeping on my side so occassionally I just think to hell with it and try to enjoy it for as long as I can.
Best wishes with your sleep:winky:. x
