Hello to All!
Hello my name is Emery almost exactly a year ago today I was working on my car for about 10 hours. I was exhausted, I layed on the couch yawned and then work up 40 min. later to my girlfriend freaking out. I felt fine but I had a grand mal seizure. I'm kinda stubborn so the next day I continued working on my car, my girlfriend and my dad finally talked me into going to the ER the next day. The ER DR. was very rude and thought that I was trying to get pain meds. until he got the results back from the CT scan. There was a black mass about the size of a golf ball maybe a bit bigger. They rushed me to another hospital that had a neurosurgeon on staff. They pumped me full of anti-seizure meds. , and continued to tell me what the prognosis was. I choose to have the crainotomy. Everything went fine. Post-op I have had a bunch of seizures, been on a plethera of differing meds. Now I am on Vimpat and Tegratol. They seem to work pretty good, the reason I have told you this story is I'm having strange things happen and I hope that I'm not the only one. The strange things are of course headaches, (I'm really putting myself out here hoping not to get judged) slight hallucinations (shadows that move) horrible nightmares, lack of motivation, and feelings of being more in touch with the natural world. Yes i know it sounds crazy. I'm tired of being alone in this fight and hope that this works.:Help::o

Hello!
Welcome to NT!
You've found a fantastic place of support! Absolutely NO judgmentalism here. Everyone is very caring and down to earth. What a frightening experience you've been thru. Thankfully, it sounds as tho you've got a good support-system with your family and your healthcare team is taking this very seriously. There are several forums here that you might latch on to and there is some very good information at the top part of each forum (called the 'Sticky's) It's great to have you here! Caring, Rae :grouphug: |

Welcome to NT
(((hugs))) :grouphug: It's okay... more (((hugs))) :grouphug: It is bad to go through these things. We do understand. No one will judge you. This is very real for you, and it does sound scary, all of it... the unknown is scarier... Take your time and find members you're comfortable with. you'll discover there are others out there that have suffered as much, and maybe more. It's good to have this network of info and resources. There's lots of other interesting forums here to check out. I would suggest you keep a diary of what's going on, meds, foods, sleep habits, and your brain-related events. Please don't beat up on yourself too much... or think of yourself as "weird" or anything like that. You are having some unusual medical issues. Take care... |
