Grim Reaper report- and it's a sad one.

**Singing**. We represent the lollipop Guild, the lollipop Guild, the lollipop Guild

Okay enough singing. The last surviving member of the lollipop Guild from the Wizard of Oz passed away yesterday at the age of 93 from cardiac pulmonary problems. Rest in Pistear soul thank you for bringing so much joy to so many. (he was the one in the middle by the way)

Oh Earl,
The Wizard of Oz was such a big thing in my childhood (I'm 56). Every year when it was on was a BIG deal. DH and I talk about the terror the flying monkeys gave us. I know the words to the Lollipop guild song, can hear and see all those who sang it, the expressions on their faces.

Watched Wizard of Oz with my kids, they just laughed at the "lame" special effects.
No terror for them. I feel a little sorry for them. That one movie once a year meant so much to me.

I love(ed) the Wizard of Oz. Remember watching it when it came on as a "special" and also remember when they made it color!! That was so exciting. I'm sorry my kids never had a special movie like that one to remember and grow up with.

RIP muchkin........:(

The mean trees that threw their apples made me cry when I was 5 yo. Got sent to bed early that night, lol!

It's amazing that they lived that long...don't people who suffer from dwarfism die from kidney problems at a younger age?

Anyway, I'm glad that they did such a fine job...I always laughed at their facial expressions during that song.

I still watch it every year it comes on.

The Wizard of Oz brought so many of us joy and excitement. It deserves to go down in history as one of the best movies ever made.
