I think my face is better!
november 16th
thought I would start a new thread with a new derm. I saw the new derm and she is very good. She is at least 70 years old. She right away said that I have acne and rosacea, which the other derm said it was all rosacea. She said I had a bacterial infection and needed to be on antibiotics 6 months. She said to not worry about bacteria resistance, she had never seen it happen with tetracycline. she took me off all of the protocols that I was using. I am to only use cetaphil anti bacterial soap and this domeboro solution for poison ivy, astringent to help with the inflamation and to dry up my sores/acne. She spent a long time with me, I felt like I was manic going in there. she also took me off all oil based supplements, fish oils vit e flax seed oil primrose oil, she took me off the moisturizer. I am quite relieved about this. and feel we are going in the right direction. she did order my labs that I asked for even though she did not think I needed them: sed rate, c-reactive protein and histamine levels. Very first thing she said was that I needed to be on accutane!!!! I said no!!!!! She said that I should be non dairy but to wait about the other food items, in the end, she said that I should avoid caffeine that I could have one cup. I told her that I don't flush. She wanted to start me on a benzo peroxide product and I told her that it was too irritating to my skin. I see her again in 2 weeks. I have to tell you that I think my face is getting better in just these few days of doing the soaks and tetracycline, but also the estrogen is helping too...and the anti inflammatory enzymes, and the minimal make up. All of that is finally coming together. Just wanted to share. bizi I can't say thank you enough for your continued support. |
This is good news! You just needed stronger antibiotics, because you had some serious infection going on there!

Yayyyy!!!
and W00t!
As someone whose skin is unpredictable (even in my old age), I celebrate your victory, Bizi!!! Hang in there, woman!!!:hug::hug: |
a woman on the rosacea site that I post on says that the bacteria is from an infestation of mites. I hate to think that.

Scabies mites? Not usually found on the face. Not usually
pustules. Scabies would cause intense endless itching and this would spread all over the body. The mites leave a "trail" in the skin, a little red line...and the dermatologist can see that. |

I'm sorry. I don't understand. What is the person from the site saying? Mari |
WE have mites on our face normally, gross yes I know to think about it.demodex mites.
Rosacea suffers seem to have more mites, though dermatologists don't want to go there. My face does itch quite a bit and the pimples are supposedly where they infest...this is what I read from some of the posters. You treat it with borax and hydrogen peroxide....and other things I can't remember off the top of my head. I am going to ask my dermatologist about this when I see her again. I have a couple of new white heads today but overall see improvement! yeah! bizi I worked in the yard and the sun did not bother me much and was able to bend over and not have a throbbing face so yes I am better!!!!!!!! |
Bizi,
Thanks for explaining. I hope the derm will give you good answers to your questions. Have a good week M |
