Been having dreams - Concussion related?
Hello all
After hitting my head or body in a snowmobile accident almst 2 years ago and being put on Clonazpam for ANXIETY. I have been experiencing really weird dreams, nightmares and reliving type theme while sleeping, I have been off the clonazepam for over 16 mothns now, but every night towards the tail end of my sleep I begin to beocme really aware of my dreams and eventually wake up right out of it, at this time I feel anxious, almost like I have a flu like shaking sensation in my body, kind of like a chill but I'm not cold. Is this medication related or possibly from being hit in the head, its like I have post traumatic stress? Thank you |
It sounds like it could be either PCS or PTSD.
What do you feel like after you have been awake a few minutes? Does anything help you feel better? a shower, glass of juice, breakfast, ? When I experience this kind of wake up, it is usually tied to poor breathing. Sometimes, I am dehydrated. Other times, I have been trying to sleep in a very poor position/posture. An overload the previous day is almost a guaranty of this happening. I still struggle with this after a decade of trying various things to prevent it. Fortunately, I only struggle with this a few days or so per month. It sometimes goes in clusters. Then, I will be free of it for a week or two, maybe more. But, those days are usually miserable. I had one of those mornings today. It was not unexpected this time. I overloaded visually watching a football game last night. I could only watch the game at my MIL's house of HD screen. The fast HD motion was a noticeable strain. I told my wife to anticipate me to struggle this morning. It usually takes me a few days to recover. My best to you. |
I was on Clonazepam for some time for my dizziness. One doctor switched it from Xanax. I woke up everyday feeling like I was choking and days goes terrrible after that. Never felt like that with Xanax. Clonazepam affected my sleep a lot which I realized later. I also had lot of vivid dreams when I was on Clonazepam and Elavil.
towards the tail end I also get aware of my dreams even now. Some days are bad and some are ok. But over all after quitting Clonazepam and Elavil it got better but not perfect. Too much brain activity causes this issue. Not too much physical activity though. |
