Illinois' Ex Governor Sentenced to 14 Years

Well, our idiotic former Governor Blagojevich got sentenced to 14 years this afternoon. He has 8 year old and 13 year old daughters...he'll be 65 when he gets out.

We got what we deserved...he and our last governor were under suspicion and both got re elected by our stupid voters...

If we got TV ads out of politics, I am firmly convinced that we'd attract more ethical folks to run for office who could then afford the campaign...

It always amazes me that people are so arrogant that they think they can get away with anything and it will never come back around to bite them. Well, this time it did.

He got off light and probably won't even serve 5 yrs.

Chi politics has always been a bit on the shady side. It's the way of the world these days.

No Sally, the least he will serve is 12 years...he asked yesterday to be sent to a Colorado "Club Fed" for his incarceration. His lawyers are also appealing the verdict/sentence, of course.
This creep brought his 2 daughters into court during his 2nd trial for pity votes from the jury. Also, during the 2nd trial he testified...and he would insert tidbits that would touch each juror's heart...for instance, one of the jurors was Greek and owned a Greek restaurant. Blago discussed taking his family to a Greek restaurant. There were other instances of inserting things that he knew jurors were interested in...the guy's a master manipulator.
Then last weekend, he took his daughters to a shelter to pick out another puppy...with all the TV cameras in tow...shameful...

Funny how folks are always sorry for what they've done after the fact. I wonder......are they really sorry or just sorry they got caught?

I definitely think he's sorry he got caught...now he is claiming that he needs alcohol/drug rehab, so that when he goes to Club Fed he can attend the rehab program and get some time cut off of his sentence...
It takes all kinds to make a world:rolleyes:
