Hi,

On Sunday /today, hubby and I have to go out to a Chinese restaurant with my friend.
(I hate Chinese food but hubby and friend like it.)

I want a piece of pecan pie soon! Now. It's been a whole year of waiting.
Maybe Winne Dixie will be open on Christmas.

or Albertsons? do you have one near by? the last one i lived near to used to be open till midday on Christmas.

i like roasted chestnuts. best from street vendors. piping hot, warm your hands on a freezing cold day.

or in a jar as "marrons glace's" (iced/glazed chestnuts) but those are like a pure sucrose injection. dunno how the preparation is, we get them in jars, like preserves. perhaps they are made like preserves too. t'would explain the sugar content.

The Pecan Pie

I bought one finally on christmas eve. It was the last present to
myself. Its also one of my favorite things for christmas.

I love yams or sweet potatoes, also. But alas my d-i-l doesn't
like them. So she wouldn't make them for us.

So I bought me some. But haven't made them yet.

ps. I can't complain she doesn't like turkey either, they got a big turkey for free, so she cooked it. Yummy.
