Psorisis med for MS ???
All -
I have ben told by a medical professional (MS neurologist) that there will be news very soon about an OTC medication used for psorisis that seems to have been identified as a very favorable MS medication. Hence, the cost will be very low. I do not know the name of the OTC medication or how it works. No other details were provided, and so now you know all that I know. Let's hope for the best! |
I'm assuming that this will be a topical medication if it's OTC? How would that work?

Hi Victor..:)
They say that LDN helps with psoriosis, but it didn't do anything for mine.....or, maybe my psoriosis would be much worse witout it?? I have had it for years but it comes and goes and stays relatively mild. |
That would be wonderful! If you find out please post. My psoriasis would really like it to!

pine bark stuff(Pycnogenol)
This pine bark stuff has helped reduce my psoriasis. I gave a 4 month supply to my brother to help with his arthritis and he reported back to me that it almost "cured" his psoriasis.
When I was in the hospital for 60 days and could not take my supplements, my psoriasis can back with a vengence. It took about 3 months before I noticed it was almost totally gone after I again started taking the bark stuff(Pycnogenol) 100mg AM & PM. I did not know untill yesterday which supplement was responsible for the improvement. The pine bark stuff(Pycnogenol) also loweres MMP-9s levels and thus reduces MS damage. http://home.ix.netcom.com/~jdalton/Yongrev.pdf (see fig 2 and narrative on page 505) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11281289 http://home.ix.netcom.com/~jdalton/M...roteinases.pdf jackD http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=11180529 Quote:

I just added this info to my list of questions for my neuro, who I'll see 1/3. I have finally found an ms specialist whose info I trust-he is at the RMmsC ;)

Well that sounds promising! Keeping my fingers crossed that this rings true. Thanks for posting that Victor! (And, good to see you posting. I hope you and your wife are doing well.)

Wow...didn't realize some of you had psoriasis too...another auto immune disease...
Sometimes I feel that the medical profession is in it's infancy in it's knowledge about these types of diseases... |
How long does it take before you notice any relief of the psoriasis?

Could they be referring to BG-12, which is based on an rx psoriasis treatment which in turn is based on fumaric acid? Neither BG-12 or the psoriasis treatment it's based on is or will be OTC, but fumaric acid is in OTC psoriasis treatments.
