stomach pain

I have stomach pain in the upper right which started after dental work. Although I tried to be "brave" during the three hour procedure, I was miserable and tears flowed freely. I was not in physical pain, mostly it was fear. After ther procedure, my stomach began to hurt a lot. I think I may have burned a hole in it from all of the acid I produced during the procedure. Is that likely? Or, could it be from the medication? Other thoughts? Thanks for helping.

Hi there

Have you ever experienced this pain before? Do you have any other symptoms or have any digestive issues that you deal with on a daily basis? Do you have your gallbladder?

If the answer is no to other symptoms including digestive, then you could have a muscle spasm in your upper abdomen. It's like getting a knot in your stomach from prolonged anxiety. Try putting a "moist heating pad" on the area that is uncomfortable for about 15 minutes and see if that helps to release it at all. If it does, then you may have to do that a few times a day for a day or two. If that doesn't help, then you may want to see your physician.

Let us know how you're doing.
