Post vaccine neuropathy
Can post vaccine neuropathy heal? How long can it take? After doing so much reading on neuropathies I feel mine is possibly due to a vaccine I had back in March! If vaccine related are there any links I can read on people who have this type of neuropathy? Thanks for any help. Blessings, Jan

Most of the vaccine injury hits on Google go to law offices.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16452357 I believe that most doctors do not want to admit this possibility. The pertussis vaccine you received, is not commonly used, and this limits also the # of adverse reports. The pertussis vaccine has been problematic for children too. This is why is was removed from the DPT that used to be the common one for kids. My son had a huge reaction to the 3rd booster of that vaccine. It was given before starting school, in the thigh, and he couldn't even walk for 2 days after! Those reactions were very common in kids. It only makes sense that adults would have various reactions too IMO. Not long after my son's reaction, the P was removed from some DPT, then but has been reintroduced recently. The Lyme vaccine was actually the worst. And I wish doctors would pay attention to the severity of that type. It caused autoimmune arthritis in many people! Enough that it was taken off the market! Some people were permanently damaged. So it is difficult to say what will happen for you, I am sorry to say. But I do think it a serious possibility. Today we are just being flooded with vaccines. I think the almighty dollar is behind most of it. This link goes into detail about Pertussis vaccines...most of the information is near the end: http://www.nvic.org/Vaccines-and-Dis...ing-Cough.aspx |
Generally--
--post vaccine neuropathy falls into the "molecular-mimicry" category of autoimmune neuropathies. The body mounts an immune response to the introduced vaccination pathogen, but it happens to have a molecular structure similar to some component of nerve, and the now activated immune system attacks the "similarly shaped" nerve structures as well as the pathogen.
These neuropathies can "burn themselves out"--be "monophasic"--in that once the offending pathogen is eliminated from the body--and, unfortunately, once a lot of the similarly structured nerve tissue has been "eliminated"--the immune response dies down. Of course, one can have terrible symptoms during the "active" phase, and even during after, depending on how much damage has been done to the nerves, and how much of it the body can repair. There's not a lot of literature out there on this phenomenon; there's more about post-infectious neuropathies that may have a similar mechanism. Take a look at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19808027 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7477751 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21955390 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8685108 http://jnnp.bmj.com/content/75/10/1507.full A lot of this has gotten caught up in the whole vaccination/autism debate, and so comments from various self-help/self-report boards--even this one, should be read with an eye open to whatever agendas may be extant. I'm not saying this is not an actual phenomenon, but evidence that it is widespread/common seem to be lacking. |
And many vaccine reactions can be from the adjuvants used, or contaminants present. Viruses other than the one being vaccinated for can be in that vaccine.
It is now believed that AIDS came from contaminated Hep B experimental vaccine from Merck in the late '70's. There are many YouTubes about this. Also the experimental first Polio vaccines were contaminated. I received 3 of these shots in the early 50's in my state where the "experiment" began. So it is not only mimicry to the virus legitimately labeled on the vaccine, but from antibiotics (neomycin) in some, or chicken egg residues, and actual other viruses that come along for the ride. This is why vaccines are dangerous today. They are invasive and you and doctors have no control over that at all! In fact it might help to avoid EGGS for a while and chicken...to see if your symptoms resolve. If a vaccine has sensitized you to chicken and eggs, you'd have allergic reactions all the time...because they are so common in our foods. |

If this neuropathy which by the way is getting worse, is a post vaccine reaction, wouldn't my blood tests come back positive for autoimmune disease, wouldn't some of my blood tests show something going on? Thanks for your patience with my questions. Jan

Not necessarily. The tests available so far only test for specific antigens and markers. They do not test for EVERY antigen.
Say there is a viral contaminant in the Pertussis vaccine you got, which has not been identified yet. Perhaps no test for it. This immunochemistry is still in its infancy. Once the damage gets rolling, it can become like an avalanche of snow... sustaining itself. It appears that we have wonderful sophisticated medical things out there, but in reality much of it is not understood, and is brought to the public long before the long term long range effects, occur. Testing is done on small groups of selected patients, and over short periods of time. The post marketing effects are reports in a minimal way, and it can take years and years to discover real and serious problems. |
