Shocking towels

Is there any way to reduce the static electricity in towels when they're just coming out of the dryer? Other than fabric softener? When I've used fabric softener, the towels aren't absorbent.

My poor husband is folding up towels and going snap, crackle, pop!! Maybe he just has to wait until the weather warms up?

Sometimes running them on cool...before you take them out,
helps reduce the static, we've found. Or catching them slightly damp...etc.
But no guarantees with this. Winter is "zap your pet" around here some days!

:D:D ZAP! We touch their noses and call it our "Cat Electric Converter".

Try vinegar in the rinse cycle. I've heard it works on static. Also, it is a great fabric softener.
