Only now I also seem to suffer from the complete opposite... when they get warm with wearing gloves they get TOO hot go bright red, swell and balloon up???? |
Me too. Also I can't peel an orange or even hold a cold bottle of water without feeling like I'm getting frostbite. It hurts a lot.

There's a variety of reasons, but mine are from vaso-spasms. They use to discolor as well everyday, but now I've had discoloring about 3 times in the past year.
If I change my position, I can sometimes get pressure off the nerve and my hand will flood with warmth. I don't have any swelling or vascular symptoms. |
my hands get cold when it's nervy symptoms i think
vascular stuff i get this weird swelling sensation or i get really veiny hands but that might be related raynauds which people with connective tissue disorders get even w/o tos |
also people who are hypothyroid get cold hands and feet
|
lack of circulation and oxygen cause the temp extremes
Think of the"compressions" as a crimped hose barely getting water through. Your arteries and vessels are being starved for circulation which also compromises the autonomic system  |
I get cold hands easily too, but if I run them under really warm water for 30 - 60 seconds (and sometimes more) then they "reset". I have to be sure to dry them thoroughly so they don't cool off from drying. After that, my hands stay normal until I hold something cold, like out of the fridge.
