Or Dr. Brantigan in Colorado? I need to find a fantastic compassionate Dr. For arterial thoracic outlet. Anyone have luck with any of these three doctors? I live in ny and can't seem to find any. Thanks.

I have not yet had surgery, but I am a current patient of Dr. Donahue in Boston. I've met with him once so far and spoken to him on the phone several times. He has a great bedside manner, and I have been impressed with him. I'm scheduled to meet with him again next week as a follow up to a CT scan, Botox injections, PT and an ultrasound. I'm really hoping he has a treatment plan or other information for me.

I hear good things about him. What were your symotoms and what did he diagnose you with ? I have only symptoms of arterial or venous thoracic outlet syndrome. My doctor ordered me that I'm not allowed to have any more ct scans because of the radiation. I've had several before and im only 26. I hope there are other options ;(

I've been to a vascular surgeon here in ny but felt he had no idea what he was talking about. After an ultrasound that took forever i got one answer. "It seems there might be compression ". That was it. I'm switching doctors. Lol

I just called Dr. Donahue's office and explained to them my situation. The health insurance thing is going to be my biggest problem. Its a shame that a health insurance with prohibit you from going to your doctor of choice, especially when there aren't any specialists in New York. Wouldn't the pay be the same? They aren't the ones driving 4 hours to doctors appointments. Its a shame I wont be able to get treated by a good specialist due to my health insurance.

I have had about 9 CT scans in the past 3 years and I am only 26 years old. THey were due to other reasons and I am also concerned that these Vascular Surgeons are going to push me to get these tests with all this radiation when I have had so much already. My doctor told me I am forbidden to have any more tests with radiation... I dont understand why they have to make these tests (besides an MRI) with all these cancer causing radiation toxic materials.

I am not sure what to do. I only have vascular symptoms that come and go. No neurogenic at all just vascular. I believe a normal person wouldnt even know they had anything wrong with them but I am very intuned to my body. My veins shouldnt bulge the way they do in my right hand... I dont know what everyone else does who travels to an out of state doctor. Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have health insurance? If so, are you able to upgrade to a better plan to assist your needs? I was able to secure the best plan available through my employer as I had a feeling my health was declining.

Were you able to make an appointment with Dr. Donahue?

I'm up in Boston, so unfortunately, I don't think I can provide assistance with NY doctors.

Hang in there!
