arsenic and peripheral neuropathy
I'm new here and I'm looking for information. I had acute arsenic poisoning when I was 12 from medication. At 71 I've developed severe peripheral neuropathy. My physician suggested that this was likely caused by the arsenic since it never leaves your body completely. Does anyone know any more about this or can someone suggest a reliable source of information? Thank you.

Arsenic is a complex mineral/poison. It is present in our environment and everyone is exposed to some form of it in food, and water. In fact Dr. Oz had a controversial show about it in apple juice!
This article explains the forms it occurs in, and how it is removed from the body. Some forms are removed via the urine after it is methylated. Other forms perhaps not. http://www.greenfacts.org/en/arsenic/l-2/arsenic-4.htm I think the best thing you can do is seek an environmental physician who could advise you more specifically. This may help you find one in your area. http://www.americanboardofenvironmentalmedicine.org/ |
