Levator Scapula Syndrome

http://www.dynamicchiropractic.com/m...e.php?id=37268

i HATE the word syndrome but this article describes me pretty well so i thought i'd post it. it's interesting he says the left side is always worse because my left side is way worse than my right. and i think this is why my neck crunches
Its tendon origin is on the transverse process of the first four cervical vertebrae.

anyhoo if your shoulders are up to your ears and you arent getting bad scalene pain id check it out.

solution tho (i believe) is to strengthen serratus anterior and lower trap

Just isolating the serratus anterior and lower trapizeus without activating the rest is very hard, and to get that strength there is going to take a long time.

Find someone who can dry needle the levatore scapula and posterior scalenes.
I did and it provided quite a bit of relief

i have figured out how to isolate my lower trap a month ago it is a bit complicated to describe. my pt is really helping me. its such a TINY exercise its embarrassing. when i do it for some reason my sternum pops

the exercises at home tho i have zero confidence in but eventually im going to do this

like 5 years from now, lol

i really want to do dry needling. but i think my pt sees it as pointless now bc im so emaciated. i dont get spasms tehre yet *KNOCK ON WOOD* maybe when i get a little more muscular

has anyone here done the levator scapulae stretch? when i do it i feel it in my elbows.
