Sinusitis and cognitive problems.
Does anyone know if "acute" Sinusitis can cause cognitive or neurological problems? I was told by a family member [and someone from the psych office] that some of the cognitive and neurological problems I've been having might not be from PCS and could be as a result from having Sinusitis. If so, what kind of problems could it cause?
Wondering if anyone could shed some light on the subject. |
Your sinuses are very close to your brain. If you get a severe infection or chronic infections, that can cause a lot of serious problems -- including even depression. A good ENT (ear, nose, throat) should be able to explain it better and if you have a lot of infections I would encourage you to treat the condition seriously and see a specialist.

Gillian - thanks for your response. I'm just trying to get to the bottom of things and want to eliminate all other possible causes.
I plan on getting an ENT soon, but I've got other appointments coming up that I want to get out of the way. I don't want to be overwhelmed. Thanks again :). |
