Wellubutrin and Gabapentin

Has anyone here used Wellubutrin during the day to take the edge off and Gabapentin at night ? I've read where that has been effective for many and they liked the Wellubutrin due to the fact it had less side effects than some of the others . So glad to have this site to ask questions on how and what others have done or are doing but also knowing that each person is different , reactions and types of neuropathies plus other things going on . It does help so much as sometimes I think more is learned here than from a doctor.

i take lyrica and it worked very good for me. my medicade provider wanted to switch me to gabapintin cause it is cheaper but doc said no and fought to keep me on what he prescribed. anyway i asked him about wellbutrin last friday and he said the side effects would be much worse. so i say if you dont have a good doctor change him for another untill you get one that helps you.

Thanks for responding. I wonder why those i was reading about didn't think there were that many side effects. Oh I've not asked my doctor yet I'm just doing lots of reading all over. I see him again in Feb so when i go he will need to sit as I've have a ton of questions . lol

A suggesstion before you go, make a list of all your questions. Make two copies one for you and one for your doctor so you can go over them together. If you can take someone with you who can write down the answers. It makes it easier on both you and the doctor.

i took wellbutrin for something else, i think around 2006. i noticed that it helped with the pn pain in my feet also. at that time it wasn't reported as being effective on nerve pain and the doctors i had just looked at me askance when i told them. a few years later studies came out about wellbutrin being effective to a degree with nerve pain. i dont remember any side effects from the wellbutrin. after a while though it became less effective for pain for me and i switched.

Red, considering the above, you should possibly also be aware that Wellbutrin lowers seizure threshold, and its potential to cause seizures has been widely publicized.
