Headache

I have this really bad headache. Its like a sharp pain in the front moving to the sides and on down to my neck. Sometimes it even gets so bad that i get dizzy and have to sit down for a minute. Can anyone tell me what it is or whats happening to me. I never had this before its new to me and its weird. I'm scared, it just started doing this everyday for like two to three weeks now. :(

Hi Princess,

With a headache that severe that's persisted that long, you should see a doctor. Headaches are usually the purview of neurologists, but one that specializes in (whose practice is limited to) just headaches would be better.

Did anything happen (injury, accident, virus, exposure, etc) just prior to this headache's onset that might provide a clue? From your description, it could be many things - sinus, migraine, cluster.... Does it respond to anything (caffeine, OTC headache remedies, lying down, sitting up, etc....)?

You may get a clue by googling: types of headaches and headache types and locations and proceeding from there if it sounds like anything you read.

Headaches respond best to treatments for their particular types; what works for a tension headache may not work for a migraine, etc. so correct diagnosis is important in hitting it and future prevention (if possible).
