Inflammation headache

I got a sudden headache five years ago. Inflammation was way up. Vicodin did not help. Prednisone 20 MG 3x/day finally stopped it but couldn't keep up pred. It killed stomach and made ulcers there and in intestines. I almost died on floor at home.

I still have headaches and use Vicodin and pred but walk fine line. I get addicted to vico easily and of course pred brings ulcers and I hemmorahge. I have had to go to rehab and I have almost died again bleeding. I am afraid now to use pills and will use only heat and cold and skelactin and stay in bed.

Any one else have these headaches? I'm thinking I could die from them. Never had headaches before. Doctors all says not any kind of migrain. So what?:eek:

Many of us have chronic (more than 15/month) headaches of different kinds. I have a tension-type (a.k.a. cervicogenic)/migraine complex, which means I can get either or both at the same time (and treatment is different for either type, so guessing which one I have at any given time adds a whole nother layer of fun to the ordeal.... NOT!

My best advice/suggestion is to find a headache specialist (generally a neurologist, but could be another specialization) whose practice is limited solely to headaches.

While you're waiting for your first appointment, start a Headache Log/Journal, keeping track of dates/times of onset/relief, pain levels, additional/side effects (e.g. nausea, tinnitus, sensory abnormalities, etc.) triggers (what you consumed/did prior to onset), weather conditions, anything that helped/made worse, and anything else that may provide the doctor with a clue. You can get/download some ideas/forms (or make up your own) by Googling: headache log or journal

Google also: headache overview
Google also: headache types and causes
Google also: headache diagnosis
Google also: headache specialist first visit

and similar, to help your doctor help you.
