right hurting
So I have not been able to use left arm much and found out that I have two labrum tears with cysts and a torn bicep tendon. Surgery scheduled next week. Now my right side is acting up. Started the other day with spasms in neck, collarbone area. My forearm and wrist have been in pain and a lot of tingling. I just started to get dizziness again, which is the worst and a whoosing in ear. ATOS on both sides, but the right was doing much better after therapy. Has anyone else experienced dizziness with TOS? I can handle pain pretty well, but this dizziness I hate.

I posted back in November regarding dizziness and whooshing in the ears. The whoosing is not as common but there were a few others that agreed with the dizziness problem, your not alone. I experienced the whoosing/pulsing ( to my heartbeat ) in my ear, post op ( first rib excision). I mentioned it to my surgeon but it was pretty much dismissed!!!!!!!!!!! I'm now 4 1/2 months post op and can thankfully say that the whoosing sound has almost ( hopefully) subsided but I did have it bad for about 3 months. It returns stronger if I am rushing about or sometimes when I lay down and I can still hear it when it is quiet but it is alot less intense.:D I'm so happy that it has settled down because it sounded so loud in my ear that it affected my hearing and concentration levels. You may find it useful to look up "Pulsatile Tinnitus". It may return??????? But for now I'm just happy to have a break from it. Tension and stress can make it worse, also alcohol intake ( dehydration). Try to relax as much as possible. I hope it settles for you... I know how horrid the whoosing can get:( Best wishes:hug: |

The muscle relaxant I take is diazepam/valium, originally 2.5mg every 12 hours, now 2mg every 12 hours. I also pay close attention to my posture as well as letting go of muscular tension that I tend to build up in response to stress. When I had dizziness, I could get relief by propping up my shoulder girdles with pillows or books in order to take pressure off the subclavian blood vessels. I would sit there and relax and my symptoms would subside. I would also feel warm blood flow through my arm. I'm unilateral with most of my TOS symptoms on my left side, which for awhile had a depressed shoulder girdle. HTH. Good luck. |

Thanks I will try it. It had stopped for awhile but just started again two days ago. I just recently started ART, wonder if that irritated things. Thought I had the dizziness kicked. |
