Ltd payment -angry

So we fill out a direct deposit form including a cancelled check to LTD carrier on a form that says "direct deposit to your bank". Today was suppose to be the day we got first check. So, checked bank account no deposit. Called LTD carrier and they tell us this:

"Oh we cut a check and mail it to the bank itself, we don't do direct deposit."

What a crock. So we had them change it to mail the check to us directly.

Does this make any sense? Cut a check and mail it to our bank? Then call it direct deposit.

What is going on!? For years on 4th Wed. of every month, my check (SSDI) was directly deposited in bank. Right now, there is no trace of it.

I made some calls, called SS, they called my bank, We tele-conferenced., told it will post tonight. Last month I see in statement, it posted as a deposit a week after the 4th Wednesday usual. (instead of 22nd 4th Wed shows on bank statement date of 28th). Keeping my eye on this.

If SS is DD your checks on time, then it appears that the delay is on your banks end. Have you considered changing banks? ;)

SS DD my checks every 3rd Wednesday at the stroke of midnight. If I check my account at 12:15am, my $$$ is sitting right there. :D

Which month are you talking about? The 4th Wed in Dec. Was the 28th. Dec was one of those months where the 1st was on a Thursday, making it a Long month before the checks are deposited.

Dear Iron butterfly,
Having the agency and the form that says direct deposit into your account at the back should have been all you need to do. Somebody is not listening, or something is confused with this proceedure. I receive SSDI and SS, and it is directly deposed into my account each month and on time. I wish you all the best, I would call them and see what is going on. ginnie

This wasn't for SSDI or SS it is for my husbands long term disability insurance payment he gets while waiting to be approved or denied with SSDI.

This is long term disbility insurance payment policy for direct deposit...they send a check to your bank for the bank to deposit into your account, no ELECTRONIC fund transfer. Or they send a check to your house. We said, just mail it to our house, not going to be at mercy of the bank to get around to depositing it to our account.

Hi iron butterfly

I really hope that the problems with regarding yur husbands long term disability check can be fixed quickly. When a person does all the right things and it still gets mess up, it is so very frustrating. I wish you all the best. ginnie

I think the LTD company doesn't want anyone to be comfortable receiving their checks and thats why they mail them instead.
Mine won't do direct deposit. That would have came in handy before I received SSDI because money was real tight. I didn't know from month to month when I was going to receive it.

Well we finally did get it, but took 5 days. Then we thought the bank was going to put a hold on it, but they didn't.

I figured out why they don't do ETF it's because it gives them 5 plus days to use the money for whatever they need it for (cash flow).

We just learned from experience, not to rely on his check coming on a specific date; and I will have to cover the bills until it does get here.

Thanks for your well wishes:winky:
