PCS + Flu

Uggggh. Not cool.....its almost 6am and I've had no sleep.

I got a call around midnight from the ex fiance saying my son was ill and needed to go to the ER. So I drove across town to drop them off...I get back, not feeling so fresh and end up throwing up everything I've probably ever ate. This has been going on for hours. She calls me and says they got him hooked up to a breathing machine...so now I'm stressed.

I feel like crap, my son is sick as h***, I can't stop throwing up and I can't sleep.

Don't expect to hear much from me today.

Keep yourself hydrated. Plenty of clear liquids even if they do not stay down.

My best to you.

Sorry to hear all your struggles man, physically and emotionally. Can you go admit yourself in the same ER as your son so at least you are close and has the comfort? How do you know it is flu?

Don't know what else to say. Yes, as Mark said stay hydrated which is very important.

Best.

Thanks.

Not sure what it was. I just guessed it was the flu because that's what it felt like.

I'm feeling a little better. I don't think I've ever been that miserable in my life. PCS + the flu is a recipe for disaster.

I think its strange for someone who takes as much vitamins as me to get sick like that.

Well, I'm still alive.

I've just got a fluey type thing too! The idea that there could be something wrong with me, which is not related to my head injury, and is just a normal illness like what normal people get seems for some reason to be completely bizarre.

Perhaps I also assumed that the ridiculously healthy lifestyle I now lead should preclude this sort of thing. Oh well....

It's horrible, isn't it??

I said the same thing...its strange for someone who takes as much vitamins as us to get sick. I hope you feel better!!!

Re: hydrate

So sorry you are that sick. If this continues, you have a risk of being in the hospital with your son. Adults have to keep hydrated too. I hope this bug goes away, and that your son recovers quickly. He is in good hands in the hospital, I know they will do everything they can to make him well. Get well yourself, and be careful that you don't get dehydrated. ginnie
