doing well after multi level fusion

hello all , I had my surgery on Nov 29th . I had a discectomy and fusion(well not quite yet) of C5-6 and C6-7.
when I awoke in the hospital after surgery I could immediatly feel the difference. My hands were no longer numb and tingly. I stopped pain meds two days home. I think after being in pain for so long I am just used to it.
the most annoying thing was the "collar" I had to wear 24-7 for the first 6 weeks. others I have spoken with said their docs let them take it off within just a few weeks.
anyway I started driving at the first of the year:D I am currently moving my neck at least as much as before surgery. I do feel some aches and discomfort, but nothing I can't live with. the throat on the other hand is driving me nuts! it has been 8 weeks since my surgery and food still gets stuck halfway down!
also I am a singer songwriter and my singing voice for the most part is there but I have no power or range, any other singers that have come back completely?

well after I get the "ok your neck is healed" I have to have Lumbar surgery...that I am really not looking forward to. I have several desicated discs and a severe spodolisthesis(SP). again I hear this surgery is anterior and causes quite a mess. guess I'll start reading some posts and see what I come up with.
