I'm so thirsty!
Using all caps means screaming, right?? That was my intent.
Thirsty and frustrated. I could glug down a whole pint of cold water, but after 4 or 5 o'clock I kind of take sips. Maybe 6 ounces. On days when we have some big bad sodium, I'm so thirsty that the cats' water dish looks tasty. I was talking with a friend earlier, and she drinks a big glass of water right before she goes to bed.:eek::eek: She says, "Yeah, I have to get up a couple of times, but oh well, I go right back to sleep." Easy for HER to say. If, that is IF I woke up in time, it's so much work for me to get out of bed (or the recliner), and stumble my way to the bathroom, it would either be a close call or too late. :o Even with my sippy program, I have a near emergency a couple of times a month. Man, I would so love to have a nice cool drink right about now. Rats. **Haha, they took away my caps! |
Dang B2Y! I would never survive without my glass of water at night time. I drink A LOT of water. I keep a glass (20 oz) by my bed and drink about 1/2 before going to bed and 1/2 before getting out of bed. You might just need some electrolytes right now. Do you have some Gatorade or something with electrolytes on hand. Drink a small glass and see if that does the trick. And, if you are worried about not making it in time. Put a towel under you when you sleep.
If you are thirsty, your body is telling you to drink something to keep it hydrated. Listen to your body. A little accident is far better than ending up dehydrated and sick from that, not to mention possibly ending up in the hospital. :(;) |
I'm listening to my body, and it's saying, "I'm going to throw you on the floor and make you pee the carpet."

I don't blame it. Hmm, maybe I could suck a couple of ice cubes. Small ice cubes.

I am the opposite and probably don't drink enough water. I'd rather have a Coca Cola.
Think about having a humidifier in your bedroom too.... My husband drinks a lot more water during the winter with the dry air....he says he can't seem to get enough. Sometimes a sugar problem will show up with excessive thirst, so keep that in mind if its unusual for you. |
I cannot do without my nitetime wawa, but I wake up every 4 hrs anyway, so, might as well go potty..:D It's always a big deal for me to get up on all twos and get on my scooter and get to the bathroom. Just another perk of the monster and aging.
In the hospital, they wouldn't let me go by myself, so every 3/4 hrs I'd call for someone to help. They all understood and were extremely nice about it. It was imbarrassing for me, but not as much as wetting the bed (I wore diapers just in case. |
I drink about 20 to 30 oz of water in the night. I am thirsty! I wake up dry and really need to drink. Some times I guzzle.

I'm constantly thirsty due to all the meds I'm on...
I have found chewing gum activates the saliva when I don't have water with me. How about a popsicle before bed? It isn't as much water, and it might freeze your mouth for a time so you don't feel the thirst as much... Hugs, dear:hug::hug: you're darned if you do, darned if you don't... |
Re: water
I keep water bedside every night. I think it is the meds. we are on. I also have diapers if I am worried. My mobility is really bad right now. waiting for surgery on my foot. I also have a pad for my bed just in case. I have to pee all the time during the night, and I limp away to get there. It is all a pain in the butt. ginnie
