Automatically Logged Out
 

Sometimes when I am writing a PM to someone I get automatically logged out. I hit the send button and my message disappears and I'm told I've been logged out.

So far, I've remembered to hit the back button and it takes me back to my message and I can copy and paste it after logging back in.

But I think since this is a neurological forum and some people might have trouble doing that for whatever reason that it would be better to not have that happen. I would be very frustrated if I worked on a PM for thirty minutes just to have it be lost forever and have to start again.

Maybe there is a feature that I don't know of that allows me to be logged in for a certain amount of time so that doesn't happen to.

If you know of this kind of feature (I've looked for it but I *am* recovering from a tbi after all and I certainly could've missed it) please let me know where I can find it!

When you sign in, always check "remember me". That should stop it happening.

Another option which I find useful, is to type any long posts onto Word or another similar program, then copy and paste my work to to here.

there is a default time after which the system logs you out for inactivity...detected by you clicking around. When making a long post, it sees you as "inactive" after the default. It is to protect your account :)

As Koala explained, checking "remember me" sets the default to staying logged in, even during inactivity, until you choose to use the log off feature.
Using "remember me" should solve your problem.

Awesome!! Thank you! (I think of "remember me" as a cookie thing that websites put onto your computer, so I never click on it and it didn't even occur to me to try that.)
