burning sensation

 Help!

I have no idea what's going on now. Yesterday I started getting bad spasms in my neck and shoulder area. Last night I stated getting more severe one's and even in my hand and wrist. I also started getting a burning feeling that ran all the way down my arm and into my hand. It was like fire in my veins. I fell asleep on the sofa and this woke me up. It came and went.

I didn't sleep well last night and this morning I woke up with my neck burning. I still have this burning sensation and if I turn my head it gets worse. I can't look down either...I can't even turn my head enough to like look under my left or right arm. I can't even describe the burning sensation. It's really weird. It's almost like a burning, numb, painful thing going on. Also ithurts real bad to press on my neck especially right under the ear. My ear hurts and my jaw keep popping at times. I don't know but man this is NUTS!

I was just wondering if anyone knew if this is common stuff or should I call the Doc. I'm wondering if my nerves are going crazy after these injections. It is just the weirdest feeling...yikes

Hi Momz....

It sounds to me like your nerves are very irritated and are starting to retaliate. Has your Dr been able to run any type of test that can show you where the compressions are happening?
Here is one of the threads that DiMarie started that shows the Brachial Plexus nerves and there direction of travel.

I believe you said you are allergic to pain meds but are you able to take anti depressants and/or anti seizure medications. Many TOSers/Neuropathic pts are placed on anti depressants for there nerve pain. They increase the action of serotonin and nor epinephrine, two naturally occurring chemicals in the body. When they work together they can turn down pain messages being sent from the damaged nerves to the spinal cord therefore helping to minimize the nerve pain.
They all have some side effects and not all of them work for everyone but when you find the right one it can work wonders for your nerve related pain.
Definitely call your Dr and make him aware of the situation.
I know all of this sucks... Meds help but then you have such a hard time with most of them. Keep using Ice and Heat, warms baths and gentle stretches if you’re able. Where you able to get a hold of some bio freeze... Great stuff for those nasty muscle aches.
Keep us posted I hope your day goes better...
Many Gentle Hugs

Olbas Oil

Hi Everyone.

I just wanted to let you know that I have the same burning in my arm/hand. I started using Olbas oil. You can find it on the internet. I got mine from HerbalRemedies.com. It takes away the burning immediately - but not forever. I will warn you that it's pretty strong smelling - my husband says it smells like Vicks Vapo Rub. I don't think so, but, if you're at home, it's worth a try.

Ingrediants: soybean oil, contents from coconut and palm oil, Vitamin A, fatty acids, St. John's Wart, Peppermint oil, Eucalyptus Oil, and some others.

Hope that helps.
