Itching Sensation in Head?
I'm a brand new member here after lurking in the distance reading these threads for a few months now. Long and short of it...going on 6 months with PCS. Symptoms flared up 2 weeks after my concussion. Main symptoms: dizziness, anxiety, depression, sensitivity to light, tinnitus, and worst of all...persistant headaches which last all day. Seems like anything and everything can trigger them. Computer use seems to aggravate them the most and unfortunately I have to work in front of a screen all day. Been on 20mg amitriptyline for a little over a month now and the Neuro just increased me to 30mg because my headaches were starting to go away a couple of weeks ago but came back recently with a vengeance. :(
Here's my question for this thread. Does anyone get an itching sensation inside their head? Doing a search on "itching", couldn't find much in this forum. This started 2 months in for me and ranges from light to very intense itching. Most often this occurs at rest or right after a bad headache. Does anyone know if this may be a sign of healing or just another never-ending annoying symptom? |
Drifting,
Welcome to NeuroTalk. Itching often is caused by a change in blood flow or inflammation. I have had the left side of my head tingle and/or itch from time to time for years. It seems to happen to me in clusters. After not experiencing it is a long time, I forget when the last time was, it started up again last week. I have learned to just ignore it since I have never been able to stop it. But then, I have never had it real bad. |
Thanks for the response and the welcome! Change in blood flow or inflammation, that makes sense. The sensation for me seems to only come from the front of my head near where I had the impact.
