Ketamine
Anyone like to share their story with Ketamine and Ketamine infusions?
I have been researching Ketamine infusions for some time. When I went in to UCLA for an emergency HELP ME chemodenerviation with steroids and lidocaine in the scalenes, traps, neck, mandibular, pectoralis and... So, Dr J had 2 female Neuro MD coats tailing him today. The topic came up about Katamine. Yes, chemodenerviation with Lidocaine, steroids and Ketamine infused anesthesia. I was actually scared …you see, I’m a planner, a researcher and if doesnt fit into my spontenaiety category its not gonna happen. I took one for all of you to see if it would help. Took half a day to recover out-pt unlike the beloved Michael Jackson juice; proprofol. No TOS/Chronic pain when I woke up but geesh this stuff is strong... More on my blog... I'm still out of it, my head is swimming and all i want to do is crawl in bed 2 days later. |
hello olecyn
Hello, and I am glad to hear you are thinking about options. Before I had my last cervical fusion, I had two Katemine infussions in my cervical spine two weeks apart. I had good pain relief for about three months. the best part was the proceedure didn't hurt me. I really thought running this line up my spine would hurt terrible, but it didn't. I also didn't get any bad side effects. I know others have had different outcomes, mine was good. My pain special, I also liked and trusted, so I guess who you have do it, makes a difference.
I was very frightened, but it turned out good in my case. I wish you all the best. ginnie |
I have been having ketamine infusions for about 3 years now and its been the best treatment I have done and I tried everything before the ketamine from meds, epidurals to the SCS and I wish I had done it sooner before going through all the pain of the other treatments.
I started with the 10 day out patient so it was 10 days everyday in row then it went to 2 days a week for 4 weeks then because my condition was so bad I went once a week for a year which normally it would be only for 4 weeks. Then it went to once every other week for a year now I only have it when I am in a flare but I have ketamine nasal spray and lossanges for the everyday. With the infusions Iam given a med to prevent hallucinations. From my experience most people sleep during the infusions, there are some that do have hallucinations anyway we are all different so all have different reactions to the med. Samantha |
WOW! props to you Samantha...10 days in a row? And here I am still holding on to the walls trying to get up. Interesting... nasal spray and lossanges

My daughter (20) has been getting ketamine for over a yr now.....3 inpatient and about 9 outpatient. So far this has proved the only thing that gives her any kind of relief. I have found the best place to talk to ketamine patients is on FB at a place called Ketamine Klub for RSD/CRPS Patients. You will find patients who get it, dosages that help them, insurance codes, doctors who do both in and out patient and insurance appeal letters. It's pretty complete and all in one place.
