Newbie here...hoping for some insite

I have been out of work/life for 7 Plus weeks, my primary Dr. was stumped so she sent me to a neurologist, he said he's stumped at the first visit :( I have had a head MRI that was negative, VNG testing that was normal, and 2 rounds of blood work that came back normal. My primary Dr. put me on prednisone for 16 days thinking something in the inner ear with no results. The neuro has me on topamax (3 weeks plus) with no relief from symptoms. Neuro is treating me for possible migrainous vertigo. Here is in short a list of my symptoms that have gradually came about over several weeks except the unstable gait was there one morning upon wakening. First started with headaches, nausea, tired all the time, eye sockets hurting and feeling really heavy, blurred vision, had eye floaters but they progressively got worse during this time, dizziness/floating sensation started, waking with headaches every morning, one week after all this was going on I woke with difficulty walking and my fine motor skills are challenging, and since I have and also my family and friends notice that my speech has changed, I say the wrong words, slur my words or can't say what I want to say. I am at my wits end trying to get diagnosed so I can get the right treatment and get fixed. In April I will lose my job and insurance because my 3 months medical leave will be up. Sorry for dropping all this on you.

Hello and Welcome!

Hello Gnaflannel and WELCOME to NeuroTalk!

I'm sorry to hear all that you are going through...

Have you gone to a Opthamalogist?? If for nothing else to rule out possible vision problems that are causing other problems?

Have you been checked for a possible stroke?

I know this sounds scary I'm just wanting to help you rule out things and hoping someone will come along that will possibly be able to help you with what it might be.

I'm not an expert and definitely not a doctor but here are a couple of links that may be of interest and possilby of help to you.

Hello gnaflannel

I want to welcome you to Neuro Talk. This site has alot of caring souls. Feel free to talk in any forum. Your lack of diaganosis does happen, and it is by far the most frustrating of experiences. You wind up on the doctor merry go round and you can't get off the ride. So many have the experience of having symptoms with no explaination. You must not give up, but continue to go for another opinion. Keep all your medical records in hand, and keep journal of when, where, what time of day, as much as you can put into writing. That way when you go to a new physician, hopefully another neruo, or an specialist eye, ear? you will have some more information to add since your last evaluation. I do know what you are going through is very difficult. I am so sorry it has made your life and your job situation in a bad place. I too lost my career due to my health, and I still grieve over it. Please continue to talk to us here, and I hope alot of others will welcome you here and try and help with other options. You are not dumping on us, this is the right place to be when you are in trouble. This is a place you can feel safe, and get some compassion while you go through this difficult place in your life. You will always be welome here, to talk, vent, ask questions, cry, all of it. You will make some new friends too. I am really glad you found this site. You will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight. ginnie:hug:
