Hello d4ever...

I can sure empathize with the knee pain. What type of pain is it? Mine started out as burning/piercing pain in the front of my knees. It ultimately radiated outward to consume both legs. I was diagnosed with small fiber peripheral neuropathy. If your pain is burning in nature, I highly recommend checking out the Peripheral Neuropathy forum. It is loaded with info on nerve pain, especially in the top section "Tips, Supplements, etc"

After trying countless remedies such as Synvisc Injections (made from rooster comb!), sympathetic nerve blocks, accupuncture, yadda yadda....I finally ended up with a spinal cord stimulator, which I'm very happy with. I wouldn't be surprised if your ortho Dr brings up the option of the SCS :p.

I also tried customized ortho shoes. This might benefit you since you have fallen arches.

I hope your upcoming appointment will have options for getting relief from this horrid pain!
My end-all diagnosis - RSD. fun.

I use 1/2 of a Lidoderm patch behind my knee when it is terrible.

It usually fixes it in 2 or 3 days!.

Rx only.
