New and Petrified!! Sorry So Long!!
Hi. My name is Michele. I am 44 years old and married to the man of my dreams that is very quickly getting very tired trying to take care of everything on his own, even though he will keep trucking along as we try to find out what is wrong with me. We have 5 beautiful children. All doing well except for our 12 year old baby that is rebelling to not having mom.
Mom is very tired and scared. Back in November, Mom was diagnosed with a fast growing Thyroid Tumor. Back to first person....I was having weird symptoms.... seeing things weird like the walls tilting, computer screen flipping upside down.... moving objects like the bathroom sink when i was brushing my teeth. The floor would move when I went to put my feet down on it. So on to biopsy in December, Dr put 4th needle in on fine needle aspiration. He hit a nerve. That night I wet the bed. Never did that before. Two days later went to get results that were inconclusive. As I was walking out of office was my first drop in blood pressure down to 80/40 and I hit the ground. Face was pallor with cotton mouth. Squad was called but I just thought I was dehydrated and went home. After this, I kept passing out with my bp dropping everytime I stood up to quickly. I ended up in the Cleveland Clinic and ended up with a diagnoses of Dysautonomia/Orthostatic Hypotension. I also have Hypoparathyroidism/Hyposcalcemia. From here I am lost. I am so scared. When I walk, I am out of breath after 15 feet. I'm having palpitations. My joints hurt in my legs and fingers terribly. Is there any help for me?? Or is this my life from now on. If there is any one out there that can give me hope, please guide me. I do have a neuro appt with Dr. Shields at the Cleveland Clinic next week. I'm have been praying so hard. Thank you and God Bless, Michele |

Welcome.
Since you mention joint pain with these other autonomic symptoms, I would suggest you get worked up for autoimmune disease. The diagnosis process ahead can be long and frustrating. Find a good rheumatologist to do blood work, then go from there based upon the results. Keep in mind several AI diseases can be present even when blood work is negative (called sero-negative). Do you have dry mouth or eyes? What about fatigue? The palpitations and SOB sound like more autonomic dysfunction. Have a cardiologist order a 24 hours holter monitor or 30 day event recorder so you can document these events. The autoimmune forum is not very active here. But General Health & Rare conditions is more active. |
