Hello Sweetducky

Welcome to Neuro Talk. Yes, this is a great forum to talk about cronic pain. This will start your journey to meet some fantastic people that can talk to you. There is a Cronic pain forum, Back issue forum. I have cervial issues and have been here for just under two years. I well know the pain you are experiencing. Even after my two cervial fusions, I am on pain medications. Many of the people here do go to a pain specialist. I would recommend you find the best one available. A good Pain specialist can often determine if you need further help, and give a reference to a neurologist. My pain specialist had trouble controlling my pain, and did indeed refer me to another neurologist where I under went my second fusion. Always it is a good idea to seek a second opinion. I am sorry this has come into your life. This site can help you get through emotionally while you go to your appointments. Often others who live near you can provide additional information on good physicians in your are. Please keep seeking help. If this is effecting your quality of life, see if you can't find some relief. I wanted to welome you and to let you know that you are not alone. Others will be along to say hello too. At the top of the page is a search bar. Tap into it and write Cronic Pain and that will bring you to that particular forum. All my best to you. ginnie

Welcome to NT!
You are certainly at the right place for support and understanding. Most of us here have chronic pain issues, so we certainly understand how you are feeling.
I see Alffe has titled a thread in your name and gave you the link to the Spinal forum.

There ARE ways to manage pain, it's just a matter of knowing where to look. For instance if your leg pain is nerve related (neuropathy) then you'd sure want to check in to the Peripheral Neuropathy forum. Lot's of great support there and very valuable info. Here's the shortcut link to get you there:

There are other options as well. What is your doctor saying to you at this point? Has he given you any specific options?

Please know you are not alone in this.
Friends are on the way!

Caring,
Rae
