Do you procrastinate?

(I was going to, but I keep putting it off...HAHAHAHA)

No, seriously. To what extent do you procrastinate? My husband doesn't at ALL, ever. If something needs to be done, he just does it. If I ask him to bring something up the next time he's in the basement, WHOOSH! He's out of his chair and headed for the basement.

I procrastinate on things that don't have deadlines. I can write "clean closet" or "hang picture" on my list day after day, week after week.

But if something has a deadline? I'd have a heart attack living like some people I know and/or am related to! "Oh, I'll do it tonight, it isn't due until tomorrow morning." Really? What if the computer crashes? The power goes out? You have a migraine?

With deadlines, I'm just the opposite of a procrastinator. I want payments in the mail days before they're due, my car inspected the first of the month, my Christmas shopping done in October, etc.

So what about you?

Blessings,

I am very much like you. I haven't figured out if it is just fatigue or if there is some laziness in there for me. Deadlines are not a problem and I have things done, like you, ahead of time.

SO, works to deadline and deadline only. It is crazy-making. I feel pressure for him to complete something but he does not. All the stress is on me.

I have spells of gunho-get it done:eek: OR it'll wait:rolleyes:. In me old age, I admit, I do Procrastinate more than I GunHo.:D

I also notice that I have a lot more patience with other people/workers who do procrastinate. In the old days, I had ZERO tollerence for people not following thru on my projects. grrrrrrrrrrowl.

A bunch of things used to bother me and now....I just don't shiv a git.:p Age and prozac go well together.

Sally,

Over 15 years ago my specialist was using low dose Prozac for MS fatigue. It did not work for me but I had such a nice outlook on everything and everyone. Truly, that, "every one is just doing the best the can" view. It was lovely.

I used to be deadline driven. I once had a teacher that didn't give due dates on assignments. She just said as long as I get it before the end of the semester, it"s not late. That was very hard for me. We had to give a presentation and I mentioned how difficult I found the class not having due date/deadlines for assignments. After that she had real deadlines.

Before MS, I was never late and ran a tight ship. Now it's whatever or whenever as long as it's not gonna cost me money. I have turned into the biggest procrastinator. I do laundry when I run out of clean socks or underwear. I used to do laundry every 2 weeks. I only put gas in my car when it's 1/4 tank.

Yes, I do ...more now since I retired.

I procrastinated on doing my CE lessons online all month.
So today I did two of them. I feel really good about myself now! :p
LOLOL One was infant formulas--- You wouldn't believe how many there are now....yikes!

I used to be very efficient--(my job did not allow procrastination in any form!) ...but hubby is not. So we procrastinate now together. And now to get him going, I have to accomplish something too! He will move, if I move! :o

I am the queen of procrastination. I put off paying bills, taking medicine, getting lab work done. etc.

Can I borrow some of that Prozac?

What I have discovered (for me at least)is some deadlines really don't matter. Some I don't dare mess with, some I know I can. It's kind of exciting sometimes!!!

DH has a lah-de-Dah approach to life, unlike hyper me all my life and you know, I think he had it better and easier. But I did make sure we had college money for kids and IRAS. Wish I'd had a wife like me!!!

I told DS he was just like me, nobody was harder on him then him. Sometimes like mine used to, his tummy hurts. DD just makes messes and goes. Hmmmmmm....

I have an old report card that had some teacher comments on it. My homeroom teacher (who was also my math teacher that year) wrote: "Procrastination is Erin's middle name..."

My dad told me I could call and get some curtains ordered for my basement to kind of warm the place up. (basement is kind of drafty, and I live down here) and he told me to call and get them ordered back in November...granted, I've been busy with an MS flare since the end of November, but I could have at least emailed about it by now.

Not sure why I keep putting it off. I do that with a lot of stuff.
