Nearly pain free

Hi to all. I am on the P_N forum for 5 years because i hav PN for 12 years caused by ZOCOR.
I have tried every pain medication on the market and the only one that helped a little was 240 mg. of Morphine daily. I decided to get the pain pump.
The first epidural of Morphine did nothing. NOW THE GOOD NEWS.

I was researching the SCS and seeing the procedure being done God must have spoken to me. What is the difference of stimulating from the inside or the outside. I have been using a TENS unit for 10 years on my legs and it helped a little.
I put a pad on either side of my spine low down. I started using it several times a day for an hour EACH TIME. The fifth day i awakend not with pain at 8 but 2 or 3. That was the 2 of FEB. Still doing the same thing and the pain is 2 or 3. The pain i have is from the inflamation and swelling in my feet.

I do not know if it will help you but chronic pain can make us do good and bad things and destroy our lives. GOD IS THE ONLY BEING THAT CAN HEAL OUR DESEASE. gOD WILL HEAL ME HEAR ON EARTH OR WHEN HE CALLS ME TO HIM.

GOD bless everyone and do not give up.
George

Thank you for this George!

So, you have a pain pump? Or did you try it and felt it didn't work.

I'm glad that the TENS is doing such a good job for you! Several folks here have used the TENS. The main difference between stimulation on the inside from the SCS is that the electrode leads are placed within the dura of the spine, which blocks the signals of pain being sent to the nerve bundle within the spinal column. It transmits the parasthesia directly thru the actual nerves, blocking the pain signals from reaching the brain. This is done on a continual basis 24/7.

Oh how right you are about what chronic pain can do to a person. It can become a life and death matter! We can only take so much and when we get to a place where there seems no hope, then we can become mentally enticed into thinking dark thoughts. Been there done that :(

I admire your faith in God! I am in total agreement!

We would sure like to learn more about your experience with the pain pump!
We get new members who pass thru wanting information on the pumps, but seems we have very sketchy info to share.

So glad you're here!

Rae

Dear George

You write with inspiration of your valiant effort with the aid of God to control your pain effectively with a TENS unit, and if that is your solution we give great praise for your remarkable story shared openly and honestly with us. It is most humbling is it not when God takes a clear lead in our lives?

Praying this remains your solution from pain,

Hi George--I saw your post on the PN forum about this. I have yet to try your idea about putting the pads on my back, but maybe I'll try it this weekend. The reason I stopped using my combo TENS/muscle stim on my legs was that I got tired of bruising my skin when I pulled the pads off. That adhesive is brutal! But maybe the skin on my back doesn't bruise as easily.

Thanks, and I'm glad that it's helping you!
