Isn't there any county health services available for you?
Or will the medical ins kick in very soon. IUD w/ no periods and then adding on the new symptoms, makes me wonder about infection. Were you consistely regular before the IUD? I do suggest a dr visit as soon as you can, it may be just a bad infection & ony one or 2 appts will fix it. |
Hello tatnkatsmom
Welcome to Neuro Talk. This site can help you with some information just from regular folks. I came here two years ago, and never left. I still have medical problems, so I seek compassion, and give some back. I was just a little older than you are when I got an auto immune problem. Even though you do not have insurance, seek medical advice. The combination of things that are bothering you really should be addressed by a professional. I wound up with an infection from and IUD at your age. That would be my first check up. I also hope you get insurance soon. Once I was discovered to have some medical condition, I was never excepted again for medical coverage. It was out of my price range. Please do try for the insurance as soon as you can.
There are "womens" centers nearby most towns. You can call for information to see if there are physicians in your area that will see you on a sliding scale. Don't let money get in the way of finding out what is wrong OK? Let us know what happens. We will support you while you go through some testing. I do wish you all the best. Again a warm welcome to Neruo Talk. ginnie |
Throid disease??
Quote:
About 15 years ago, many of the sympthoms you mention were happening to me, but, in my case, thought I was just getting older and this was to be expected. I had some bloodwork done bymy Internist for other reasons; without being aware, the doctor also checked my blood for thyroid disease. My doctor called me up and said did I realize I had Graves Disease (hyperthrioid). I had never heard of that. She had me see an Endocrinologist who confirmed my throid disease. I remained hyperthroid for a few years and was given meds for my disease. Eventually, I went into remission. The Endocrinologist had me come in every 4 to 6 months for bloodwork checking my throid. Eventually, went into hypothroid (low throid) and have been on synthroid (a replacement for the hormones my throid were no longer producing. I am still on the Synthroid. Once you have throid disease, you need to be checked continually. The throid has so much to do with our body functions. I would strongly suggest you see your doctor and ask that your throid be checked. This is something that can be treated. Being given the proper treatment, my hair started growing, the problem with going up stairs, shortness of breath, stooping to even pick up the laundry, etc. all disappeared. The irritrability calmed down as well. My brittle nails and dry skin improved as well. (Ger) |
