Trusting in other is a problem for me.
My trust issues stem back to my childhood... While Married to the same man the only one I had ever been with in my entire life, Physically, Mentally and Verbally abused me.. Come to find out all these years of abuse made him feel better about the wrong he had been doing in our marriage, fighting with me would give him justification for what he did... Now divorced and in a new relationship, I often question my partners actions love for me.... I just want to be able to trust again with out being naive... My partner also has a very long history of cheating on another partner....

Hello Hopefullkind!
Welcome aboard!
I've been where you've been and I completely understand how this can affect. My first husband was a pathological liar and cheated aLOT. I can't believe I stayed with him as long as I did. At least something beautiful came out of our marriage and my precious daughter is now 25. Verbal abuse goes back to my childhood from my father. To this day I have self-esteem issues. Here's a forum which offers alot of emotional support: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/fo...aysprune=&f=85 People here are easy to talk to, so make yourself right at home. It does wonders to talk these things out, especially when we feel that no one around us really understand. I'll be great getting to know you Rae :grouphug: |
