Another Head Injury.
Hi, I posted back in January that I had gotten into a motorcycle accident in Oct and had PCS. I recently started back to work 3 days a week 4 hours a day.
Well this past weekend I was a passenger in a car and someone hit us on my side, Totaling the car. I slammed my head on the roof and got taken by ambulance to the hospital where I got 10 staples in my head. When I told them I had PCS they said they could not tell me if it would get worse or not. I didn't get knocked out this time, was just in a fog for a bit. So far just more memory issues. I know it took a few weeks for my PCS to show up the first time. I'm wondering what the odd's are that it will come back full force. I'm seeing my DR this week. |
....
Really sorry to hear about your accident...its good that you got only memory issues at the moment, it could be worse, lets hope symptoms wont show up, but i think the odds are pretty big...

As the saying from the specialist goes: If you've seen one head injury, you've seen one head injury.
There is no way to predict your outcome but the time proximity to your previous head injury is not a hopeful indicator. My best to you. |
I feel like I have no luck :( I'm also wondering if the 20 mg of celexa I take for the existing one will help.
|
Celexa has no healing value for Post Concussion Syndrome. It may reduce some of the symptoms (depression) and reduce the visit and complaints to the doctor.
Many doctors prescribe anti-depressants and anxiolytic/antidepressant combination drugs due to the behavioral issues presented at an office visit. They may have a "at least I can treat the patient for something " attitude. It also helps them justify their billing to insurance companies. It would be great if health care was truly about the health of the patient. While typing this, I ran into a Freudian issue. My spell check tries to correct 'anxiolitic' to 'politician.' How does it know that politicians are the cause of much of societies' anxiety? |
So sorry to hear about the accident.
Just try not to get yourself down about it, and take it easy for a while. |
