Post Concussion or Seasonal Allergies

So, for anyone who has been following my threads, my rehab has been going well. I am definitely seeing improvements with vestibular and visual systems. However, I live in Pittsburgh and lately the weather has gotten very warm and allergy season has started. I have a history of seasonal allergies which I take claritin for. My biggest allergy symptom is runny nose and congestion. Well, the past three days when I have woken up in the morning, my ears have felt very "clogged" and the only way to unclog them is hold my nose and squeeze.

I am 8 months into PCS and I have never waken up to this feeling, howver I have had occasional ringing ears and airplane feeling in my ears. I asked my physical therapist about it and she seemed pretty convinced it was seasonal allergies. Any thoughts?

As one who has a lifetime of experience with pollen allergies, I suspect that you may have been hit doubly hard by multiple allergens at the same time. Many respiratory allergens usually have better spacing between blooms. Unusual weather patterns can cause some to overlap causing more intense symptoms.

I suspect upper neck inflammation could also cause a different presentation of allergy symptoms.

btw, My vitamin regimen makes a big difference in my allergy symptoms. When I was not consistent with my vitamins, etc. my symptoms would be worse and longer lasting. When I am disciplined with my vitamins, my allergy symptoms will last a day or two at the most and mildly at that.
