MRI scans - decipher results?
5 Attachment(s)
Hi all, New to the board! Just had an MRI to follow-up on a pituitary adenoma and am wondering if anyone can help me decipher the results. I'm not asking for a diagnosis or anything like that, but more so feedback from those who may have more familiarity with reading MRI's as my Dr appointment is not until next week.
Hx on my adenoma is interesting, hence the follow-up...first found my pituitary microadenoma (8-9mm) back in 1993. Had MRIs every 6 months or so for a few years afterwards. Never saw any change in size, nor change in symptoms (primary symptoms were breast secretion which remained consistent). I was advised to "wait and see" and continue MRI follow-ups every few years unless symptoms worsened, or new ones emerged (vision trouble, headaches, etc.). In 2007 I had a follow-up MRI with a new endo, and at a different MRI center, results found "no abnormalities". No tumor?? Even with continuation of symptoms such as breast discharge, etc.?? As of today I continue to have the same symptoms plus some new ones (periods cycles are almost 2 months long now, bouts of anxiety/depression, etc.), so I went to the endo I saw back in 2007 and a follow-up MRI was scheduled. Received copies of the scans yesterday but won't hear from my endo until next week. Anything anyone can decipher from these scans?? Would appreciate input from those who are familiar with reading/deciphering MRI scans. Thanks in advance for your time - any help is greatly greatly appreciated!!! |
