Dr. Dean Donahue is a TOS Savant
Not only is he a brilliant surgeon, but also one of those rare doctors who's a kind and caring human being as well. I feel very very fortunate!

Pulling for a positive recovery for you.
I should be having my the first of two rib resections and scalenectomies in a few weeks. We need to get some more positive recoveries posted here. NO MORE DOOM AND GLOOM! :D |
Thanks, Marc. Still in the hospital tonight but doing well. I want to scream this,...I can feel my fingertips for the first time in DECADES! Surgery took an additional two hours (5 total) because of a lifetime of nerve entrapment. He said that nerves were bundled and entrapped around my first rib. I'm 50 and have lived with this for most of my life. Amazing. I'm off the morphine and pain meds by choice and feel great, with a slight headache (it's very dry in the hospital, so I think I'm a little dehydrated).

That is great! It sounds like you will be able to go home soon.
Did you have both sides done at once or just one side? |

Obviously, I can't say enough good things and I'm thrilled you've joined my "train". I'm still quite unsure if my surgery will lead to improvement, but all I know is that we are in the best hands possible. Sorry if I seemed out of it earlier...little sleep last night for me. I'm thrilled for you and have been thinking of you often. Enjoy the meds! :)

Laura, no problem. I realized I was excited and probably called too early--sorry about that!
