Anyone hear this commercial on TV? I don't even know what they're selling or trying to sell.... But I cannot get it outta my brain..EEEEEK!!!

It's an ad for Target.....and it comes on all the time here. I'm constantly singing that song in my head. I didn't know it was about plucking a chicken, though!

Actually it's a lark they're plucking...which I guess were kind of tasty small game birds in Europe (I've never had one, but was at a restaurant in England about 12yrs ago that sold them)

I'm wondering why PETA hasnt started protesting Target for using a song about plucking larks and eating them...and also because the song is really really annoying!

It's about plucking a lark just as we used to, or some of us, pluck a chicken, a turkey, duck, pheasant, etc. in the United States. It really isn't a mean song. But I do not understand why Target is using it.

They're probably using it because it does kind of fit all the bright colors they use in the commercial. Not the actual words of the song so much, but for people who dont speak French (I dont), it does sound like it's a happy song. Bright colors tend to make people happy, and so does shopping. (so does eating...not sure if eating larks would make me happy tho.)

and if you use the English version of the song, it's just a love song. (different words, set to the same melody, technically not the same song)
