Met a guy on the bus wearing a tens unit

Today, as I was on the bus, this very nice man was sitting right across from me. We got to chatting. I asked him "Is that a tens unit"? And he said "absolutely" . and I said "Do you have neuropathic pain"? He said "well, I also have neuropathy but I wear this for distrophy, I have RSD. I said "Oh, Reflex Sympathetic Distrophy?" and he said WOW, How do you know that?

I then told him all about my husband and neuropathy and we had a nice conversation. I took a quick video so you can see what he goes through. He says this unit saves his sanity. He wears it 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off and never to bed. This guy says his next thing will be the spinal cord stimulator. He's doing the test run in about two weeks. I have never seen anyone out and about with a tens unit.

That's only because--

--you've never looked that closely at what's clipped to my belt at the neuropathy support meetings. :D

I often wear my TENS unit when the meralgia parasthetica or the pudendal issues are acting up, and also occasionally for the arm symptoms I get from the cervical radiculopathy. I've gotten a few questions on it from passerby from time to time. It's easy to mistake it for a cell phone or beeper.

Well, next time I see you at one of the meetings, I'll make sure to have my eyes go directly to your belt. Can you imagine me doing this??

lol
