Degenerative disks
I was wondering if anyone else has degenerative disks and what they are doing for it. I am only 24 and have 2 I have 3 things they want to do the first is an epidural and depending on the results they will do a thing where they put needles between the disks and inject dye to see for those results. If all the results come back a certain way the only option would be to do surgery and replace the disks but like they say and I do surgery is very risky even the tests are so I have no idea what to do? Are there any other options? The disks pain are really keeping me in flares.

Hi! How are you? just came across your post. I have severe degenerative disc disease too but I don't yet know what my doctors will do for me. I do know there are a few other options for discs instead of suegery. Are you still interested to find out more or did you end up having the surgery?

wow. my suggestion to you is this. consider everything before making a decision , research it and remember RSD is always a bigger thing to consider as surgery can make it spread . also remember that any procedure has risks , and spinal procedures have more. so far they have tried steroid injections, another injection to separated my discs coupled with one to fill the void to try and keep discs apart. they were going to use as iv tube to send in a tool to scrape and rebuild the discs, so on and so fourth. when you go to your spine dr. he/ she should have a number of pamphlets in the room or in the waiting room. as questions about them, speak your concerns and make sure you understand their answers because this needs an informed consent. then hit the computer type in procedures into your tool bar and plug away. so much info out there on these procedures right down to patients responses. good luck. and be well
