tos and dentist
Has anyone here gotten Novocaine injections in their jaw while having tos? Did you experience a significant reduction in neck pain for a few hours or no effect?

No, but it is clear that hyper-activity of the masster muscle induce an hyper-activity of the scalenes.

that is interesting! my masseter muscle has worse been than my scalenes in terms of spasms since i wear the neck brace when i'm sitting...but i haven't touched my jaw problems this entire time.
i had novocaine injections on the r and l side and experienced relief on my l side only. when i go to the doctor i'm going to ask about this. i need to read about tmj. worst case scenario i might ask for a brachial plexus block but my pt thinks i have rsd..i dont (??) so i'm a little worried about that |
I have had TMJ marcaine injection along with occipital nerve block. Helped TMJ pain and headache, but no effect on neck pain.
I believe my jaw pain and headaches are caused by the TOS/neck tension. When my TOS symptoms calm down, the jaw pain and headaches do too. I've been told that vascular TOS can contribute to headaches as well as the tension. ....I should add that these injections were by my neurologist, not a dentist. |
yeah pretty much anyone with bad enough neck pain has tmj. but i think they can feed into each other like boytos said. but when my tos calms down (my ribs only elevate in VERY bad times).. my jaw does not
the base of my head feels like its going to explode 24/7 |
