Tinnitus

I have recently started having tinnitus, or ringing in my ears. Saw an ENT about it, and he said there wasn't much that could be done about it. I have started trying to watch my diet and take vitamins to help. I'm 50 and wonder if it's due to hormones or to a nerve condition.

Has anyone had any success with treatments for tinnitus?

Thanks!

It is commonly thought to be caused by damage to the otic nerve. anything in your life style that isn't strictly wholesome and health promoting could be suspect.

That's interesting. I have MS and have had Optic Neuritis a couple of times. I know my optic nerve is damaged and I do have tinnitus almost always. Sometimes it's worse than others but it's always there. I've been told there's nothing that can be done for it.
